Rhean Fajardo
Rhean Fajardo
is Senior Counsel with the Oakland Athletics. In her role, Rhean works on some of the most exciting issues in major league baseball including real estate matters related to the development of the new ballpark site and redevelopment of the existing Coliseum and Arena complex. Rhean’s day to day practice includes support of the corporate partnerships, stadium operations, baseball operations and community and events teams. Rhean also serves as legal counsel for the San Jose Earthquakes, a Major League Soccer Club.

Prior to joining the A’s front office, she served as Corporate Counsel at several Bay Area companies focusing on fin tech, bio tech and, most recently, cybersecurity and digital safety at Symantec Corporation supporting the consumer business unit (Norton and LifeLock brands). At Symantec, she advised on a wide range of innovative business development initiatives and strategic partnerships, including commercial and technology licensing agreements for both domestic and international deals. Her experience also includes a 6-year stint in the public sector as Deputy City Attorney for the City of Daly City. Rhean earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

She lives in San Francisco with her husband of 13 years, Vilaska Nguyen (Deputy Public Defender for the City and County of San Francisco and candidate for District 7 Supervisor), and their two kids (ages 12 and 8).

Vilaska Nguyen
Vilaska Nguyen
is a senior trial attorney with the Office of the San Francisco Public Defender where he handles serious felony matters. He is a past President of the Asian American Criminal Trial Lawyers’ Association, and past recipient of NAPABA’s Best Under 40 and the VBANC trailblazer award. Beyond the courtroom, Vilaska enjoys policy work, coaching basketball and performing stand-up comedy throughout the Bay Area. Vilaska has been married to Rhean Fajardo for 13 years and they both live in San Francisco with their two children, 12-year old daughter Vivian, and 8-year old son, Russell.

Julia Markley
Julia E. Markley
is a partner in the Portland office of Perkins Coie. She represents technology and retail companies in litigation over trade secrets, trademarks, copyrights, non-disclosure agreements, non-competition agreements, licenses, and business contracts. Julia is the founding President of the Oregon Filipino American Lawyers Association (2016-19), co-hosted the inaugural Pinay Powerhouse Conference in San Francisco (2017), and enjoys developing her skills as a mentor, sponsor, and ally. From 2016-2020, Julia served on Perkins Coie’s Executive Committee, the governing body of the firm. Notably, Julia was the recipient of the 2019 NAPABA Daniel K. Inouye Trailblazer Award. Two weeks after she graduated law school in 1999, Julia married her college sweetheart, and they have two children ages 15 and 11.

Aaron Ver
Aaron Ver
represents clients in complex disputes in federal and state court, in arbitrations, and before federal and state agencies. Aaron prosecutes and defends complex breach of contract claims, trade secret cases, real estate litigation, and defends a wide-range of clients in federal and state class and collective actions. He has conducted internal investigations into white collar and employment matters stretching around the globe. Aaron maintains an active pro bono practice representing children seeking asylum and recently submitted an amicus brief on behalf of a civil rights organization in a constitutional citizenship lawsuit on appeal before the 10th Circuit. Due to the current COVID-19 Shelter-in-Place orders, Aaron is currently living and working from home with his wife, his 74 year-old father in law, and a 1 year-old Shiba Inu puppy.
